Qualify ruthlessly
Budget, decision-maker, deadline, and appetite for change. If two of the four are missing, the project will cost you more than it pays — in money or in morale.
Partners, not vendors
Vendors execute requests; partners shape them. Position yourself at the table where problems are defined, and the work — and the fees — follow naturally.
